UBF --- Upflow Sludge Bed Filter
Anaerobic microorganism treatment is an indispensable treatment section in the current high concentration organic wastewater sewage water treatment process. It is better that aerobic microorganism treatment not only has low energy consumption, but also can produce biogas as a secondary use of energy. The higher the anaerobic reaction volume load is, the higher the oxygen reaction is, and the lower the investment is for treating the same amount of COD anaerobic reaction.
At present, the commonly used anaerobic treatment processes include:
UASB --- Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Bed/Blanket
EGSB --- Expanded Granular Sludge Blanket Reactor
CSTR --- Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor
IC --- Internal Circulation Anaerobic Reactor
ABR --- Anaerobic Baffled Reactor
UBF --- Upflow Sludge Bed Filter
AF --- Anaerobic Biofilter
AFBR --- Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor
USSB --- Upflow Staged Sludge Bed
AAFEB --- Anaerobic Attached microbial Film Expanded Bed
USR --- Upflow solid anaerobic reactor
PPR --- Plug Flow Reactor
Two-phase Anaerobic Reactor
UBF --- Upflow Sludge Bed Filter
Upflow sludge bed filter (UBF) is a new type of composite anaerobic fluidized bed reactor developed on the basis of anaerobic filter (AF) and upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB). UBF is an effective and economical technology to treat high concentration organic wastewater because of its high biological solid retention time (SRT) and effective degradation of toxic substances.
The composite anaerobic fluidized bed process is a reaction apparatus that uses the fluidized technology to treat biology for reference. It uses sand and soft fillers in the equipment as the fluidized carrier. Sewage is used as the flowing water medium, anaerobic microorganisms are bound on the surface of sand and soft filler in the form of biofilm, and they will mix by themselves when methane gas is generated in the circulating pump or sewage treatment process to make the sewage flow. When the sewage passes through the bed in upflow mode, it will continuously contact with the carrier attached with anaerobic biofilm in the bed to react, so as to achieve the purpose of anaerobic reaction decomposition and adsorption of organic matters in the sewage. The advantages of UBF composite anaerobic fluidized bed are high efficiency, less land occupation, and it is suitable for high concentration organic sewage treatment projects.
Working Principle of UBF
The UBF composite anaerobic reactor is a biofilm sludge bed area in the middle and a water distribution area in the lower. Sand and soft fillers inside the equipment are first used as carriers in anaerobic treatment. The equipment structure is divided into solid liquid gas separation area in the upper part and circulating fluidization reaction area in the lower part. The circulating pump is used to circulate sewage and two carriers with biofilm in the middle and lower fluidization reaction areas to achieve fluidization.
During anaerobic treatment, anaerobic microorganisms can produce a large amount of methane, carbon dioxide and other gases in the process of decomposing organics, of which methane accounts for 75%~85%, and the amount of 1 kg COD is 0.5m3. The produced methane can be used as fuel for boilers and also for civil use, which is a good energy source.
Characteristics of UBF
High processing efficiency, large processing capacity, low energy consumption, low operating cost, and automatic continuous operation.
During treatment, a large amount of CH4 can be produced as fuel and a large amount of energy can be recovered.
Small area, strong adaptability, convenient model selection and short construction period.
Application of UBF
High concentration industrial organic wastewater in landfill leachate of municipal waste treatment plant.
High concentration organic sewage from food processing, brewing, monosodium glutamate, paper making, etc.
Tannery, pharmaceutical, fermented starch and other concentrated organic sewage.
